LG’s Murray falls short of back-to-back double-doubles in 2G
The Ulsan Hyundai Mobis of professional basketball defeated the Changwon LG for their second straight win to open the season.

Won by two points, 76-74, in the ‘2023-2024 Jeonggwanjang Professional Basketball League’ at
Dongcheon Gymnasium in Ulsan at 7 p.m. on the 23rd. After a big win over Daegu Korea Gas Corporation
in the opening game, the team extended its winning streak with a new victory.
The younger Hyundai Mobis coach, Cho Dong-hyun, had a lot to celebrate after defeating his older
brother, Cho Sang-hyun of LG, in a highly anticipated matchup between twin brothers.

Steady play throughout the game led to a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Lee Woo-
seok and Kebe Aluma contributed 14 and 11 points respectively. Aluma, in particular, proved to be a
dominant presence in the game’s decisive fourth quarter, helping to secure the second straight win.
For LG, Asem Marei, who had 17 points and 13 rebounds in the opening game against Suwon KT,
recorded another double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds, but could not smile in defeat.
The home team set the tone early on. Lee Woo-seok led the way with eight points in the first quarter. LG
chased Hyundai Mobis in the second quarter, led by Lee Kwan-hee and Dante Cunningham, who scored six points each, but could not close the gap.
LG evened the score in the third quarter. With 2:33 left in the quarter, Yang Hong-seok hit a three-pointer
to tie the game and converted the ensuing free throw to take the lead. The teams traded baskets and the
third quarter ended with the score tied at 56-56.
The fierce offense continued in the fourth quarter. With 6:41 left, the momentum shifted in Hyundai Mobis’ favor.
Aluma blocked Yang Jun-seok, who attempted a two-point shot. Then, Kim Kook-chan, Son Si-jin, and
Aluma combined for a dunk to put Hyundai Mobis back on top.
Afterward, Iluma made one more two-point shot and the gap between the two teams widened to four
points. LG tried to break the tie with a shot clock, but it didn’t work. Lee Woo-seok and Jang Jae-seok
scored back-to-back baskets to give Hyundai Mobis an eight-point lead.
LG didn’t give up.
Marei, Lee Kwan-hee, and others made two-pointers to bring the lead to three points. With 24 seconds
left in the game, the gap was reduced to just one point as Yoon Won-sang also made a two-point shot in
the offensive zone after a foul by Signe Jin.
However, with five seconds left in the game, Kim Tae-wan made one of two free throws to put Hyundai
