The NC Dinos are just one win away from qualifying for the playoffs.

The Dinos won

The second game of the 2023 KBO Semi-Finals (best-of-five) against the SSG Landers 7-3 at SSG Landers

Field in Incheon on Wednesday.

After winning both the first and second games on enemy soil, NC needs just one more win to advance to

the playoffs, where regular season runner-up KT Wiz awaits.

NC will be looking for a win against Triple Crown pitcher Eric Peddy in the third game of the semifinals on

April 25 at NC Park in Changwon.

Park Gun-woo

Went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored, while leadoff man Son As-seob went 2-for-3

with a home run, two RBIs, two walks and three runs scored. Kim Hyung-jun hit a solo home run in the

top of the eighth inning with a 4-3 lead.

Foreign-born Jason Martin hit the game-winning double.

NC starter Song Myung-ki

Was charged with two runs on two hits (one home run) in three innings, but the pitching staff pitched

effectively to keep the ‘Home Run Corps’ SSG bats at bay.

SSG was pushed to the brink with a shocking second straight loss at home. In the third game, the team

aims to turn the tide with starter Oh Won-seok.

SSG starter Kim Kwang-hyun took the loss after giving up four runs on five hits in three innings. The

second pitcher, Moon Seung-won, was tagged with three runs on three hits in 4⅔ innings.

Han Yoo-seom

Struggled at the plate, hitting back-to-back home runs, but his efforts were overshadowed by his team’s loss.

NC scored early in the game to dampen the spirits of their opponents.

In the top of the first inning, leadoff hitter Son Asub and Park Geon-woo singled to put runners on first

and second, and NC scored the first run on Martin’s double. Kwon Hee-dong followed with a single and

Seo Ho-chul’s sacrifice fly made it 3-0.

In the bottom of the second inning, NC made it 4-0 as Son Asub and Park Min-woo singled, followed by

Park Gun-woo’s RBI single.

SSG

Fought back in the bottom of the third. Leadoff hitter Kim Sung-hyun was hit by a pitch and Kim Min-sik

walked to put runners on first and second with no outs. However, after Choo Shin-soo flied out to center

field, Choi Joo-hwan and Choi Jung both struck out to end the threat.

SSG, however, managed to tie the game in the fourth inning. Guillermo Heredia walked and Han Yoo-

seom followed with a two-run home run. Han pulled a low fastball from Song Myung-ki for a 120-meter towering arch.

Han also hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. She took a changeup up the middle from reliever Lee

Jae-hak and smashed it over the center field fence. It was the second postseason home run of his career.

After cutting the deficit to one run, NC extended its lead in the eighth inning on a solo home run by Kim

Hyung-jun. Kim took an eight-pitch high changeup from Moon Seung-won, who was in the midst of a

strong outing, and sent it over the center field fence.

In his first postseason appearance this year, Kim has already hit three home runs.

In the next at-bat, NC took advantage of a Do Tae-hoon walk and a Kim Joo-won sacrifice bunt to make it

6-3 before Son As-seob doubled in a run. Park Gun-woo followed with an RBI single to make it 7-3,

effectively sealing the game.

In the bottom of the sixth, NC’s fourth pitching staff of Kim Young-gyu, Ryu Jin-wook, and Lee Yong-chan

pitched a scoreless inning. 19가이드03
