Secretariat’s Player of the Month Award
Son Heung-min wins his fourth career award
English Premier League (EPL) Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has been named the Professional
Footballers’ Association (PFA) Fans’ Player of the Month for September.
“Salah is delighted to be named the PFA Fans’ EPL Player of the Month for September,” the PFA
announced on its official channels today (Sept. 23).
The PFA announced the nominees for the PFA Fans’ Choice EPL Player of the Month for September for the
2023-2024 season on September 6. Salah was joined on the list by Manchester City’s Elling Holland, who
led the league in goals with nine, Arsenal’s Bukayo Sakho, Newcastle United flanker Kieran Trippier, and
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison.
Notably, Son Heung-min, captain of the South Korean national soccer team and Tottenham, was also
nominated. He was recognized for scoring six goals in September alone.
He didn’t actually win the award. Salah, not Son, received the most votes from fans and was named the
PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for September.
The EPL’s secretariat awarded Son the September Player of the Month award. He had previously won the
award on September 13, when he was up against the likes of Salah.
It was Son’s fourth career award. This is the third time in three years that he has been named Player of the
Month, having previously won the award in September 2016, April 2017, and October 2020.
He joins the likes of Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard, Bruno Fernandez, and Salah in the list of
players who have won the award.
Son will next face Fulham in the ninth round of the league on April 24 at 4am. A win would put them back
at the top of the league. 카지노사이트존
