Kyung-Hoon Lee, second ‘Top 10’ of the season at PGA Valspar Championship

Kyung-Hoon Lee (33, CJ) succeeded in entering the top 10 at the PGA Tour Valspar Championship (total prize money of $8.4 million).

Kyung-Hoon Lee traded 5 birdies and 3 bogeys and hit a 2-under par 69 in the final round of the tournament held at the Innisbrook Resort Copperhead Course (par 71) in Palm Harbor, Florida, USA on the 25th (Korean time).

Lee Gyeong-hoon, who recorded a final total of 7 under par 277 strokes, tied for 9th place.

He tied for 4th place at the Cognizant Classic on the 4th and entered the top 10 for the second time this season.

He has somewhat overcome the shock of missing the cut at the Players Championship on the 18th. The FedEx Cup ranking also rose from 90th to 74th.

Lee Gyeong-hoon’s last-minute reluctance was disappointing. He competed for the top spot by reducing 4 strokes until the 15th hole. However, he struggled in the difficult 16th to 18th holes, also known as the ‘snake pit.’ Following a bogey on the 16th hole (par 4), he lost one more stroke to the 18th hole (par 4) and was pushed down in ranking.

Peter Malnaughty (USA) took the top spot in this tournament with a total of 12 under par, 272 strokes. Malnutty beat Cameron Young (USA, 10 under par, 274 strokes) by two strokes. He achieved his second career win in nine years after winning the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2015. Malnutty shed hot tears after reaching the top. He was recently criticized for serving as a director of the PGA Tour policy board, which is conducting merger negotiations with LIV Golf. In particular, controversy arose that he received preferential treatment as policy director after being invited to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which he was not eligible to participate in. However, Malnutty silenced the criticism with his skills and lifted the trophy with great joy. Among Korean players, Kim Seong-hyun (26, Shinhan Financial Group) reduced 2 strokes on this day and ranked tied for 61st with 2 over par 286 strokes. 성인웹툰
