Saratoga Casino Fires Legal Dispute With Customers

Gambler Miranda Sanders is now set to take Saratoga Casino Hotel to court for unfair arrest. This has to do with getting paid excessively by the casino on February 15, 2021, cashing in on the prize money she won and pointing out the cashier’s mistake. Later, a police warrant was issued and she was arrested for not returning the prize money.

On November 4, 2021, Mr. Sanders filed a lawsuit against the casino, the city administration, a police officer and two casino employees. She is claiming more than $1 million in damages, claiming false arrests and business losses at her butcher’s. She also claims the arrest caused her anxiety and ruined her reputation.

After the payment error occurred, Eileen Cotter, the cashier who made the mistake, contacted Mr. Sanders and told him that he was right about the mistake and that he should return US$850. A few weeks later, she returned to the casino to meet Edward Moore, the head of security. She then waited too long to see him, and claimed to have left before the two could talk.

This means that Mr. Moore reports to the local police about the situation, while Mr. Sanders continues to answer calls from casinos and hire lawyers. A few days later, police officer Christopher Camaro recorded a conversation with Joseph Pradino, the district attorney for Saratoga County. He said Mr. Sanders was not at fault in this situation.

However, in the recording of the conversation Mr. Camaro agreed with city officials, he still filed a complaint and issued an arrest warrant. Court documents show that both warrants were issued with the perception that there was no possibility of a crime being committed, and the police officer could not prosecute Mr. Sanders and did not inform the court that he had committed any crimes.

Mr. Sanders turned himself in on October 21, 2021, and said the situation was humiliating and embarrassing. And in January 2022, the police dropped the charges. Mr. Sanders claims that two of his constitutional rights have been violated, and that the National Police Agency is at fault for failing to properly train, supervise and discipline its officers.

However, not only is the Saratoga Casino Hotel having a positive impact on the community because it provides entertainment and stable jobs for many people, but on many occasions the property has shown a sense of responsibility for the region. Last December, for example, the casino donated more than US$110,000 to a local nonprofit organization during its Make A Difference holiday plan.
