Mike Trout is out again.

Mike Trout (33-LA Angels), one of Major League Baseball’s most recognizable stars, is out again.

MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported on Feb. 2 that Trout will not return to the field this season.

According to MLB.com, Angels general manager Perry Minasian said, “Trout underwent an MRI on Wednesday that revealed another tear in the meniscus in his left knee, which was surgically repaired earlier this season. So am I. I’m not an emotional person, but it was really hard to be in the room with him and hear the news.”

Trout posted on social media, “MRI showed another tear in the meniscus in my left knee and I’ve been diagnosed with a second surgery. I am devastated and have lost all hope of returning this season,” he wrote on Twitter.

Trout underwent surgery in late April to repair the torn cartilage in his knee and began a lengthy rehabilitation. He began his comeback in late July with a minor league Triple-A rehab assignment, but then received the devastating news that he was experiencing pain at the surgical site and had torn another area of cartilage in his knee.

Trout is one of the best hitters in the majors.

He broke into the big leagues with the Angels in 2011 and has a career record of 1518 games (5511 hits, 1648 at-bats), 378 home runs, 954 RBIs, 안전놀이터 1,123 runs scored, and a .991 OPS, and has been honored as an 11-time All-Star, nine-time Silver Slugger, and three-time MVP.

That’s why Trout signed a massive 12-year, $426.5 million contract with the Angels in 2019. Until Ohtani left for the Los Angeles Dodgers for 10 years and $700 million, Trout was the highest-paid player in the major leagues.

Since hitting the jackpot, Trout has been plagued by injuries every year, and has been plagued by the ‘cheating’ stigma. He broke his calf in 2021, his back in 2022, and his wrist in 2023, limiting him to just 319 games over the last five years.

This year, Trout was once again plagued by the injury bug and was lost for the season after batting just 2-for-2 with 10 home runs and 14 RBIs in 29 games.
