Australian casino operator The Star Entertainment Group said all electronic game consoles (EGMs) and electronic table game consoles (ETGs) at its three facilities were “gradually turned back on and running.” The update was in a filing with the Australian Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
The casino company said “system performance issues” related to EGM and ETG were “corrected.”
“As previously announced, the decision to turn off all EGMs and ETGs was intended to comply with relevant regulations and to maintain the Company’s commitment to safer gambling procedures,” it added.
Star Entertainment said on Monday that all of its three facilities’ EGMs and ETGs were closed on Saturday as “operations were disrupted due to performance issues.”
The casino operator said system performance issues were identified during testing after planned upgrades to bring cashless games into its properties.
The casino operator runs the flagship Star Sydney Casino Resort (pictured) in NSW and two casinos in Queensland – Treasury Brisbane and Star Gold Coast.
From Saturday through Tuesday, casinos at the three properties remained open with table games available, according to the company.
